Hi my name is Millie and I have a 13 wk old female husky, Bella. What I do when im going to comb her is to give her a treat, keep her busy chewing on that while you comb her and praise her at the same time if she lets you comb her. Hope this helps a little, cause Bella does the same.

I would suggest getting Mac used to brush slowly by letting him see it, smell it etc and then brushing his front legs so that he can see what your doing.  When Mac is comfortable with this you can move onto other parts of his body.

You could also try distracting Mac with a chew toy.

It may also help if you groom him after taking him for a long walk as this should tire him out a little

My partners dog didn't like being brushed at all but following the above method he will let me brush him.

Good luck

I feed Hana treats as I brush her. Another thing that works (I use this more for when I'm trying to file down her nails) is I smear peanut butter all over a plate or frisbee. It takes her a lot longer to lick all the PB off, and she's so focused on getting all the PB that she doesn't care that she's being groomed.

My female, Luna, used to alway nip at me and run around when i brushed her, she preferred my husband do it..she'd lay down and roll over for him too..(BRAT!!!)..used to really frustrate me but I found that persistance finally made her stop. I kept after her and continued to brush her daily until she behaved and she did..... eventually. Haha.

What others said on distracting with a treat or a toy will do the trick.
