We have always struggled with our Jazz when we walked her on the lead... for some reason no matter what we tried she loves to pull like a steam train... as im sure many of you have notice with your huskies!!!

So one day we bumpped into a lady who's mum was a dog behavourist in our area and we got talking and in the end we booked a session!...

She came along and brought with her something i had never seen before... its a called a GENCON... its like a halti lead but you click on to it like a normal collar and not on there nose, which out Jazz hates with a passion!!!

And within 5 mins she was walking properly and was complete bliss and it was a joy to walk her on the lead!!! It was the first time in 16 months she has ever walked properly and she's only 18 months old!!!

All I can say is, if you having problems walking your husky take a look at them...

Hope it helps!

This sounds excellent-My Staffy pulls like a train when I have my other dogs with me but walks beautifully to heel when we are on our own. i will take a look at this-isnt it great when you can walk without your arm being yanke dout of its socket.

I've seen dogs wearing those, they really don't look too bad & they seem to work. RA always wears a harness to go out, he walks pretty good on a leash-I've never really tried to make him 'heal' though- yes I really am a lot more interested in 'not having my arm yanked out of the socket'. RA responds well to verbal direction when walking too...

And sometimes when he pulls I just run...

Polee likes being in front when we are out on a walk and can also pull like a train when she wants to.  I've tried various methods of stopping this but she hates the majority of those that I've tried particularly the halti and the harness.

I've just grown used to the fact that as long as she's slightly in front she doesn't pull all that much.  Also whenever possible she's allowed off the lead and always  comes back when called which is the best for all concerned

Agreed 110%- RA does much better when I let him walk in front of me. RA can also go off leash sometimes in some situations...that said I would never ever ever encourage any husky-or any spitz breed- owner to turn their dog off leash. I had RA for years before I even thought about letting him go, and even then, months were spend just dropping his leash for a few moments and then using a treat to get his attention focused on me and not running away. Even now I reguraly recall him with a cookie. And its still a risk, but RA is also getting older and is no longer interested in just running like a dog possessed:)

have fun!

Well our main aim in using the device is to let the partner walk her... she really struggles with Jazz's strength and when there are squrils around my god you hang on for your life! lol... Also a while ago my partner wasn't paying attention and Jazz went after one and it damged all her shoulder muscles and now she struggles with that arm... but now she can be walked properly things are much easier... she still has the odd paddy fit but she's only been using it for a few weeks!...
