I've been wanting to get a husky puppy (a girl) for a while now, but I want to make sure I know everything I can about them before I do get one. This is everything I've gathered from different sites I've read:

    Height:
-  20 - 22 inches tall
    Weight:
- 35 - 50 pounds
    Lifespan:
- 12 - 15 years
    Temperament:
- Gentle
- Energetic, and love to run
- Extremely affectionate, curious, and welcoming to people, making them poor guard dogs.
- Strong “prey drive” they can be with other small animals, if raised with them from puppy hood, but never leave a husky/cat alone together.
- Don’t eat much
    Behavior:
- Very smart
- Stubborn (Will listen for treats)
- Always need to be kept on a leash outside
- Love to dig and chew
    Coat:
- To keep shedding minimal, brush once-twice weekly
- Blow their coats (shed a lot) twice a year, in fall and in spring
- When they are blowing their coats, brush them every day

Is there anything else I need to know? Also, when they are not blowing their coats, do they still shed a lot? How long did it take you guys to house train your puppy?

It looks like you have definitely done your homework. Great job! There are just a couple of things that I would add:

1. They are very well known as escape artists. You have to make sure that they have a secure yard.

2. Sometimes they can have sensitive stomachs. You may have to try several different foods before you find one that agrees with them.

I don't think that they shed an abnormal amount when they are not blowing their coats. I have two "woolies" and they are not bad at all. They shed about the same as my two "regular" coat huskies.

Mine were house trained in about two weeks. I did not crate train mine but most people highly suggest it. My older huskies seemed to show the younger ones the ropes so they were very easy to house train.

Most of the info you've gathered is correct.

 

In my experience they don't shed much except when blowing their coats.  Also they can be trained to enable them to be let off the leash which makes exercising them much easier. 

 

I would suggest checking out some of the forums on here regarding general issues like food and health
