Hello everyone....

Shadow's annual vet visit went well as we were told he's in perfect health then heard the vet utter "however...."

He's 2 kgs under weight. I've always know Shadow's been on the smaller side ( we've had him from 9 weeks old) but the vet (who's known Shadow as long as we have) has never mentioned under weight before.

Trying to get him to eat more is impossible. Any clues?

Thanks for reading....

What type of food does Shadow currently eat?

If dry food you could try adding small quantities of mince or perhaps fish

Shadow eats dry food with the occassional beef marrow bone for his teeth. Will try adding some mince or fish but need to be careful as, when I've done this before, the extra protein makes his skin itchy and his vet gets grumpy too!

Did the vet have any suggestions for tackling Shadow's weight issues?

I have the opposite issue with Polee as she's overweight with her main problem being that there aren't many foods she doesn't like

Please let us know how you get on.

No, he wasn't forth coming. I think that's because, once he had a think about weight and Shadow, Shady's eating history and "funny" skin, he realised it didn't matter too much. At 18.6 kgs, Shady's BMI is still normal and he's never been good on the tooth.

Hmmmm, will have a think about Polee's num-num issues :)
