We have just moved from nottingham "1 bed flat" down south to a "2 bed house" with a nice garden etc... but with us moving south ever since this move our Jazz... "9 month Sibe" has become ever so destructive!!!... Last week she ate the mail and the new bank cards for the very first time...?... She managed to chew and destroy 1 of my Blu-Ray movies... and the other day we stepped outside for no more than 15 mins and in that time she took the box of brita filters of the side, took it into the living room shredded the box then opened all the indiviual wrappers and then chewed each filter... £15 down the flusher!...

Anybody know why she has started this behavour... is it the move?... Is it that we're in a much bigger place and she dont like being on her own or is it just a puppy thing that they go through... I've told her off for doing it and as soon as she gets caught doing it she knows she done wrong and she runs to her cage!!!

She seems very happy being her cage but I just can't make out why she is doing it?... Oh and I have just been told that shes had another blu-ray! ARGH!!!

thats aweful.. im sure its the move. maybe she thinks your going to leave her. my pups are that way though.. if im sleeping. in the same room.. they mess with nothing.. if im gone.. even just for a moment.. like in the car to run into the gas station by the time i come out they are both in the front seat chewing on something they shouldnt be.

i have found that taking them for a jog in the morning and one when i get home from work keeps em from being destructive maybe cause they are too tired to be.

I suspect it's the move as you say she seems happy in her cage.  I believe this is because she feels safe in this familiar environment but feels insecure when in the new house when your not around.

It 's likely to take time and reassurance from you for Jazz to feel safe and secure in her new environment.

You may want to restrict her to either her cage  or a room while she becomes familiar with her new surroundings.

Good luck

I think that MissXyO is on the right track.

Siberian huskies have a tendency to get destructive when they are not getting enough exercise. Maybe you were so busy during the move that her exercise routine kind of got thrown out of whack. It would probably help tremendously if you could walk her at least twice a day. They are very high energy dogs and if they have a lot of pent up energy and get bored, then you are in trouble.

Many thanks for your replys... we are already walking her alot... she gets a 30mins wee & poo walk in the morning and then when we get home we take her out in Swinley Woods (HUGE WOODS) for nearly 2hrs... and when she gets back she's out for count! lol... So yes it could be the move and topping that new surroundings... we have been told by some people that becuase of the move etc and the house is loads bigger she might not like being on her own in a large environment and so she takes this anneixety out on objects by chewing them???
